LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– The woman accused in an overnight shooting in which police say she killed one person and shot at several witnesses pleaded not guilty.

Montash Jackson entered her plea to one count of murder and four counts of wanton endangerment.

The shooting happened Sunday night just before 11 p.m. in the 1700 block of Liberty Road. Police say the suspect and the victim, who knew each other, were fighting when Jackson pulled out a gun and shot the other.

Police say the suspect fired shots at several witnesses as well. The victim, later identified as 19-year-old Jasmir Allen, was shot in the upper body. She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries where she later died.

Jackson will be back in court on August 6. She is being held without bond.
