(LEX 18)– Two hikers are safe Thursday morning after getting lost in the Red River Gorge.
Officials say the male and female hikers set out on the Bison Trailway on Wednesday, but when it got dark they lost their way.
Luckily, they had all the necessary supplies and were able to call for help.
Search and rescue teams from Menifee, Powell, and Wolfe counties responded to the call around 10 p.m. Wednesday night.
The male hike suffered a sprained ankle, but is expected to be OK.
