KNOX COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– A man has been arrested in connection to a robbery, kidnapping, and assault.
It happened around 4:30 a.m. Friday at a residence on HWY 459.
Deputies responded at 8:05 a.m. to the complaint and learned that 29-year-old Rickie Ledford had broken through the door of the victims’ residence while armed with a handgun.
During a physical altercation between the two, Ledford allegedly struck a female victim–his ex-girlfriend–in the head with the handgun. Officials say he then forced both of them to take him to his mother’s residence on School Street in Barbourville. The male victim was later released by Ledford which allowed him to call 911 at approximately 8 a.m.
At approximately 10:15 a.m. sheriff’s officials and local police located and arrested Ledford who had hidden inside a bedroom closet, and armed himself with a handgun. The injured female victim was also located and transported to the hospital.
Ledford was lodged in the Knox County Detention Center and charged with Burglary-1st Degree, Possession of Handgun by Convicted Felon, Assault-1st Degree, Assault-4th Degree, Unlawful Imprisonment-1st Degree, Criminal Mischief-1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance-1st Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
