FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Derek Garten, a suspect in a Frankfort murder, is expected to be in court Monday.
Lexington police took him into custody Friday after a seven hour standoff.
Garten was wanted as a suspect in the murder of 39-year-old Margaret Elizabeth Smith.
Officials say he barricaded himself inside the Bryan Station Inn early Friday morning.
Just before turning himself in, Garten posted on Facebook writing "this is the end of the road for me today."
Adding that he quote "shot Meg and would do it again."
Garten is scheduled to be arraigned at 10 a.m. in Franklin County.
