CINCINNATI, Oh. (WLWT) – Ohio State Highway Patrol said a bicyclist was fatally struck by a vehicle just before 2:30 p.m. in Middletown.
OSHP have identified the cyclist as Paul Klein, 66.
Middletown Fire said the accident occurred at the intersection of Fisher Avenue and Sunset Street.
Investigators said Klein was travelling east on Fisher Avenue and failed to stop at the stop sign. He was struck by a driver in a 2017 Jeep Cherokee. Klein was pronounced dead on scene by Middletown Police and EMS.
OSHP said Klein was wearing protective gear at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the accident.
OSHP said the driver who struck the cyclist stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation. There is no word on any potential charges for the driver at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by OSHP.
