Deputy Injured After Hit-Run, High-Speed Chase In Adair Co.

ADAIR COUNTY, Ky. (ADAIR COUNTY COMMUNITY VOICE) — Police arrested a man after a hit-and run crash and high-speed pursuit Saturday night that ended with a deputy suffering injuries to his hand.

The Adair County Community Voice reports here that the accident happened about 8:45 p.m. in Taylor County, with the chase ending about 40 minutes later in Adair County.

The driver fled from authorities representing several agencies at speeds of more than 100 m.p.h.

At one point, police say, the driver tried to drive out of a ditch by ramming into a deputy’s cruiser.

The newspaper reports the driver was still trying to pull away when authorities got him out of the vehicle.

The deputy involved suffered cuts to his hand.

The suspect was being held in Taylor County Jail.
