BOONE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– One person is dead and one person is injured following a three-vehicle accident in Hebron.

It happened around 7 a.m. Friday on the KY-237 overpass at I-275.

Officials say 55-year-old David Simon, of Burlington, was operating a Chrysler Sebring southbound in the left most lane when his car suddenly crossed the center line and collided head-on with a Pontiac Sunfire driven by a 45-year-old woman from Aurora, Ind. Simon’s vehicle then hit a Chevrolet Silverado operated by 50-year-old Stephen McKinley Jr., of Rising Sun, Ind.

The initial collision caused the Sunfire to flip onto its top, ejecting the driver. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Simon was transported to University Hospital with unknown injuries after being extracted from the Sebring.

McKinley required no medical attention at the scene.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit is investigating the scene and requests anyone who witnessed to collision to come forward and provide their rendition of what they observed.
