LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– A criminal complaint has been filed against a woman who claimed that she was robbed and stabbed outside her home Monday morning. Lexington Police determined Callie Jones, 45, lied about what happened and harmed herself. She will be charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident.
Around 11 a.m. Monday officers responded to a home in the 600-block of Brookgreen Lane for a reported robbery and assault. Jones stated that after pulling into her driveway, an unknown man wearing a ski mask attacked her and took cash and her debit card.
Through the course of the investigation, several discrepancies were identified in her story and detectives determined that Jones was being untruthful. Jones ultimately admitted to fabricating the robbery story because she owed money to family members.
The criminal complaint was signed by a judge Thursday morning.
