Welcome to meteorological summer, the start of the Atlantic hurricane season and the start of your first June weekend! We’re backing off the severe storm threat Friday but we’ll still have to deal with active weather to start and finish the weekend. After our early morning round fades southeast watch for scattered showers & storms firing in the heat of the afternoon and diminishing after sunset. A few strong storms and locally heavy rain will be possible. Saturday is the pick day of the weekend- partly sunny, less muggy and a low chance for an isolated shower or storm. More scattered showers & storms develop Sunday. A dominant ridge sets up next week, we will see a run of sunny, dry and spectacular days!
