1 dead after single vehicle crash on Kentucky highway

BEVINSVILLE, Ky. (LEX 18) — One has died after Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Kentucky Route 122.

KSP responded to a call around 12:30 p.m. on Kentucky Route 122 just past South Floyd School.

Upon arrival, it was found that a passenger vehicle had failed to follow a curve, struck the guardrail, left the roadway and hit an embankment, according to police.

Police have reported that the driver, Clark Thornsberry, 79 of Melvin, has died.

Thornsberry was pronounced dead by Floyd County Coroner Greg Nelson.

The crash is under investigation.
