Nancy Cox – LEX 18 Anchor

Nancy Cox grew up in Taylor County, Kentucky and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Western Kentucky University.

After serving a year as Miss Kentucky and competing in the Miss America pageant, she feels blessed to have been able to spend her entire career in the home state she loves.  Nancy came to LEX 18 in 1992.

Since then, Nancy has won four Emmy Awards for anchoring and reporting, a regional Edward R. Murrow award and multiple Kentucky Associated Press awards.  Some of the highlights of her career include covering more than 20 elections, a presidential inauguration,  a one-on-one sit down interview with Hillary Clinton in the final weeks of her 2008 campaign for President, interviewing the legendary Cawood Ledford upon his retirement and eighteen Kentucky Derby’s. However, possibly the proudest moment came when LEX 18 received its first “Best Newscast” Award from the Kentucky AP.

The American Heart Association, the “Go Red” Campaign, the Salvation Army and numerous local causes have been the focus of her outreach during her nearly 3 decades in Lexington TV. Nancy has previously served on the boards of Campbellsville University, Kentucky’s Outstanding Young Women Program, Miss Kentucky Scholarship Program and the Ohio Valley Chapter of NATAS.  In 2016, she was named a national trustee for the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
