LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A Kentucky woman has been accused of stealing luggage from passengers at an airport on two occasions.
Carrie Welch, 33, was charged with theft after police said she returned to the Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport for a third time on Friday, news outlets reported.
Police said Welch was caught on surveillance video taking luggage Feb. 2 and Feb. 14. The items taken in the first incident were valued at more than $12,000, and the items taken in the second theft were valued at nearly $10,000.
Both times, passengers reported that their luggage was missing.
Welch was arrested Saturday and booked at the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. It was unclear whether she had an attorney who could speak on her behalf.
