WOLFE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team has been mourning the loss of one of their own, but her team continues to honor the legacy she left behind.

Sandy Teal, a dedicated team member, died in May after a yearlong battle with cancer. On Facebook, the Wolfe County Search and Rescue team said that Sandy's husband, who is also a member of their team, made a large financial donation to the team in Sandy's memory.

The crew said that the donation will go towards helping the team purchase a new response vehicle. They have been working towards buying one over the past couple of years.

The Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team said, "Sandy's spirit will always be with us and we know she will be riding shotgun with our team once we are able to purchase our vehicle."
