LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A jury found a Corbin man guilty of murdering his wife in 2018.

The Laurel County Sheriff's Office found Stephanie Steenburgin, 38, dead in a home off North Florence Street on March 7, 2018. She had multiple gunshot wounds behind the home. Originally, the call came in as a reported suicide.

An investigation was conducted and it was determined that her husband, Joshua Tate Davenport, had shot her during an argument. A pistol was recovered and Davenport was arrested.

On Thursday, he was found guilty of murder and tampering with physical evidence. He received a sentence of 35 years on the murder conviction and five years for tampering with physical evidence, for a total of 40 years.
