Congratulations are in order for actor and singer Lea Michele and her husband, Zandy Reich, on the arrival of their first child! Michele gave birth to a healthy baby boy on Aug. 20, according to People.
“Everyone’s happy and healthy, and they’re extremely grateful,” a source close to the couple told the magazine. People also confirmed the name of the couple’s new son is Ever Leo.
Michele, who is 33, is best known for starring in the popular Fox network television show “Glee” as Rachel Barry.
Michele and Reich have been married since 2019.
The “Glee” alum has posted numerous photos on her Instagram account since the couple went public with the pregnancy back in April. Most recently, Michele posted a photo on Instagram of her walking along a beach on Aug. 18, just two days before the arrival of her newborn son.
This happy news comes after a difficult period for the “Glee” cast and their fans. Naya Rivera, who played Santana Lopez, drowned in a California lake on July 8 following a boating trip with her 4-year old son. Her body was recovered five days later, on July 13.
Michele posted a photo tribute on Instagram to Rivera and her late boyfriend and former “Glee” co-star, Cory Monteith, who died on the same date in 2013.
As for being a new parent, Michele has said she wanted to be a mom for years. In an interview with Glamour in 2014, she talked about wanting to have a lot of children.
“Of course — I’m going to have like a billion of them!”she told Glamour. “But mainly because I always hated being an only child, I always wished I had more siblings!”
Best wishes to the new mom and dad as they begin their new lives as a family of three!
