(LEX 18) — A nurse strike team from Kentucky is headed to North Carolina to help victims of Hurricane Dorian. The storm is expected to reach that area Thursday into Friday.

Mandatory evacuations have been ordered. To help those who are not leaving, the nurses will be working in local shelters. They'll provide medical support to those displaced from their homes and those in need of medical attention.

The team plans to be there for about two weeks.
