LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — On Saturday Kentucky Colonels in Fayette County participated in the annual Day of Service.
This year they helped the international Book Project Inc., which receives books and sends them to their partners.
Around 20 active colonels helped organize and pack books for distribution this morning.
The international book project says the majority books donated comes from central Kentucky.
“Primarily I would say 80 percent of our books come from central Kentucky either from university professors or libraries who are clearing out their collections or individual donors,” International Book Project Executive Director Lisa Fryman.
If you would like to donate books you can visit their office on Delaware Avenue Monday through Friday 9:00 to 5:00.
