LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Jennifer Palumbo -- host of LEX 18's "It's On!" -- announced Monday that she is in self-quarantine after brief contact with someone who has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
She explained that she has not exhibited any symptoms but decided to follow self-quarantine protocols "out of an abundance of caution” after consulting with her doctor’s office and the Fayette County Health Department. Palumbo had a brief interaction last week during a doctor's visit with a person who later tested positive for COVID-19 in Fayette County.
Palumbo stated she is not able to be tested because doctors told her she does not meet current criteria.
"They told me they didn't want to give me the COVID-19 test because they have a very limited supply, and I have no symptoms," Palumbo noted.
Doctors advised her that she is considered low risk and that her family does not need to quarantine. She said she would update LEX 18 and "It's On!" audiences about her decision. She will be posting about her experience in quarantine on Facebook and Twitter.
