LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Typically on Easter Sunday children meet the Easter Bunny. That was not the case this year for three-year-old Talon Perkins. On this Easter Sunday, he spent time with Hank, a well-known horse in Kentucky, who today was fixed up in bunny ears.
Talon was born prematurely, and has since been diagnosed with multiple congenital heart defects and has already underwent three open heart surgeries. A tough hand dealt to a child and family who are consistently in and out of surgery.
Hank is a ten-year-old Tennessee Walking Horse. He too had it tough at an early age. He was a rescue horse and his owner Tammi Regan believes these two had a connection from the first time they met back in December.
Today, the two were reunited for an Easter stroll around his neighborhood.
