LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Every day, Habitat For Humanity is working to provide safe, affordable housing for people in the community, but they do so much more than that.
People often think of Habitat For Humanity building homes, but they also repair homes.
Kathy Utterback said she wanted the American Dream, so she was devastated last year when her American Dream fell into a state of disrepair and she couldn’t afford to make repairs on a fixed income.
She said that she is a believer that God puts people in your path for a reason. She tells LEX 18 that she knows her and John McLelland’s paths were meant to cross.
McLelland is the manager of Habitat’s Love Your Neighborhood program, making critical home repairs for those on a fixed income. They can pay only part of the cost over a period of time.
They repair homes and restore faith.
