During the November 2015 Country Music Awards, country singer and Blake Shelton announced that he was dating singer Gwen Stefani. Nearly five years later, the eclectic couple has announced that they are officially engaged.
For the last five years, the two coaches from “The Voice” have been virtually inseparable, collaborating several times throughout their relationship. They have written songs about each other and joined one another on stage during concerts.
Both celebs took to social media, sharing the same photo of Stefani sporting a large, glittering ring with their unique announcements.
“Hey @gwenstefani,” Shelton tweeted, “thanks for saving my 2020… And the rest of my life.. I love you. I heard a YES!”

About an hour later, the No Doubt singer took to Twitter with her response.
“@blakeshelton yes please,” Stefani posted.

Shelton’s rep confirmed to E! News that the proposal took place in Oklahoma, where Shelton has an estate, but no official description of how he popped the question has been revealed.
In May, the couple purchased their first home together. The 13,000-square-foot home on a 1.6-acre lot in the Encino foothills of San Fernando Valley reportedly cost $13.2 million.
This will be Stefani’s second marriage. She wed rocker Gavin Rossdale in 2002 after dating for seven years. They had three sons together: Kingston, 14; Zuma, 11; and Apollo, 6. The couple filed for divorce in 2016, citing irreconcilable differences, and their divorce was finalized the following year.
Shelton, 44, has been married twice before. In 2003, he married his high school sweetheart, Kaynette Williams, after 12 years of dating. They divorced three years later, with “inappropriate marital misconduct” listed as the cause for the split.
He met Miranda Lambert in 2005 when they performed together. The country couple dated for several years before tying the knot in 2011 and divorced in 2015. Several months after the divorce, Shelton’s rep confirmed he and Stefani, now 51, were dating.
“When we first started seeing each other, friends of mine would be like, ‘What the hell is that all about?'” Shelton told People in 2018. “But if you ever had a chance to be around us together, it does make sense.”
The couple has not yet announced a wedding date, but congratulations are certainly in order!
