Summer today, fall tomorrow

Forecast Lines Up with the Season Change

and last updated

Starting with a calm and quiet morning with temperatures about where we were yesterday. Maybe a little cooler. Changes begin today as a cold front slides closer. Cooler air is on the way and it comes with a chance for a few rain showers.

Our first pronounced cold front, since the drought kicked up, will slide through tomorrow and change the forecast. Rain showers will not e impressive. Scattered rain, light to moderate, can be expected for most. Also, don’t be surprised if you get completely missed by the rain. Regardless cloud coverage will thicken overnight as the wind picks up. Rain is slated to move through tomorrow morning and last into the afternoon, wrapping up in the evening for the eastern counties. Rainfall amounts will generally total a few tenths of an inch. This will certainly not equal a “drought buster” but every drop counts. Things clear up for Tuesday. Temperatures will dip about 10-12 degrees region-wide, which will get us closer to normal for this time of the year.
