NEW YORK, N.Y. – A 10-episode revival of “Sex and the City” called “And Just Like That…” is coming to HBO Max.

The streaming service made the announcement Sunday, saying Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis will return to star in the series. Michael Patrick King will also come back as executive producer.

The revival is described as “a new chapter” of the show, which gained a cult following on HBO and enjoys continued success in syndication.

“The series will follow Carrie, Miranda and Charlotte as they navigate the journey from the complicated reality of life and friendship in their 30s to the even more complicated reality of life and friendship in their 50s,” said HBO Max in a statement.

Noticeably absent is Kim Cattrall and her character Samantha. She has famously said she has no interest in doing a reboot of the show.

Production on the new series is scheduled to begin in New York in late spring, according to HBO Max.

“I grew up with these characters, and I can’t wait to see how their story has evolved in this new chapter, with the honesty, poignancy, humor and the beloved city that has always defined them,” said Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content, HBO Max.

When the new show was announced, SJP released a teaser video on her Instagram with the caption, “I couldn’t help but wonder... where are they now?”
