LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18)– If you have never had your picture taken by a professional photographer, now is your chance.

The totally free event is happening Saturday.

“We welcome anybody, no questions asked,” said Kristin Fore with Help-Portrait.

The movement is called Help-Portrait and it is on the first Saturday in December. Professional photographers, hair and makeup artists and dozens of volunteers donate their services to offer free portraits to anyone.

“It just really changes your life. It’s just a life-changing thing and we have people that come year after year who look forward to this time,” said Kristin Fore.

Photographer Andrew Fore started the Lexington event eight years ago with changing at least one person’s life for the better. Now, it’s gotten so big they’ve moved into Southland Christian Church.

“The more people we can positively impact, the better our community is,” said Andrew Fore.

No qualification is necessary. They say that if you can benefit from having your portrait taken, then show up. You’ll be paired with a volunteer who will walk you through the day and you’ll leave with your portrait in hand.

“At the core of it, it’s just seeing people realize they matter regardless of what their current situation is,” he said.

Just show up at Southland Christian Church on Richmond Road between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on December 1. Food will be provided.
