LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — LEX 18 has teamed up with God's Pantry Food Bank for the "Hope Over Hunger" Project, dedicated to help feed the needy, especially during these unprecedented times.
Over a "Zoom" call Wednesday, LEX 18 Vice President and General Manager Andrew Shenkan presented at $10,000 donation from the Scripps Howard Foundation to God's Pantry to help them continue to meet the needs of hungry families.
"With their motto being giving light and changing lives. So with this 10-thousand dollar donation, I think we are going to be changing some lives here in the Bluegrass," said Shenkan.
"The 10,000 donation coming from the Scripps Howard foundation, we will use to buy product which we will then get to communities all over Central and Eastern Kentucky to help feed those who are hungry, many who are hungry for the first time from COVID-19," said Mike Halligan, CEO of God's Pantry.
