It’s official: Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt and her husband Chris Pratt just welcomed a baby girl. This is the first child for 30-year-old Schwarzenegger Pratt and the second child for 41-year-old Pratt (he has a seven-year-old son with ex-wife Anna Faris).
Chris Pratt posted an announcement of the birth on Twitter, revealing that they are naming her Lyla Maria and linking to a similar message that he posted on Instagram.
“We couldn’t be happier. Both Mom and baby are doing great,” the post says.

New mom Schwarzenegger Pratt shared a similar image of her wee one’s hand on her Instagram page and also linked to it from Twitter. Happy grandma and former First Lady of California, Maria Shiver, hopped on to shower her congrats right away:
It was Shriver herself who was instrumental in setting up her daughter, who is an author. The pair met after Shriver played matchmaker, and the rest was happily ever after. However, Shriver isn’t necessarily on board with called grandma just yet!
“I’m not embracing that name exactly. I’m gonna come up with my own name,” Shriver said in a May 2020 interview for TODAY, in which she discussed her daughter’s pregnancy. “I’ll think of it. I’ll figure it out.”
Meanwhile, Patrick Schwarzenegger (younger brother to Katherine) also confirmed the happy news via a video shared by Entertainment Tonight. He was stopped outside a market by paparazzi, where he acknowledged the arrival of his niece and held out a gift he had just purchased for her.
Lyla Maria definitely won’t be lacking presents. Pratt’s ex-wife Anna Faris also sent over a gift for the baby girl, according to a source who spoke with E! Online. She is reportedly very excited for her son Jack to have a little sister, and in the past, Faris has spoken about co-parenting and the importance of staying on good terms with her ex-husband.
“We are so good and respectful towards each other, and I think that there is so much kindness and love,” Faris revealed on the Divorce Sucks! podcast in 2019. “It is very difficult to be completely separate from somebody you have spent so much emotional investment with.”
It sounds like Lyla Maria will be surrounded by lots of love. Congrats to the Schwarzenegger and Pratt families!
