Halloween is my favorite day of the year. Since it will likely look different this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, I plan on going all out with seasonal decorations, so I can celebrate even if parties and trick-or-treating end up not happening.
If you’re hoping to make your home extra-festive as well, Home Depot has a variety of over-the-top decorations that are sure to make this Halloween special. One piece of decor that will definitely make your house stand out? A nearly 6-foot-tall dragon that breathes fog!
That’s right — this $399 dragon has a height of 69 inches, glares at you with glowing red eyes, makes roaring dragon sounds and connects to a fog machine so it “breathes” fog. While the fog machine is sold separately, you can buy that at Home Depot as well.
The impressively scary dragon is currently out of stock, but you can enter your email to be notified when it becomes available again.
In the meantime, check out the other oversized decor in Home Depot’s Halloween collection this year, like a 6-foot jack-in-the-box, a 7.5-foot headless horseman and a 9-foot-tall pirate ship with an animated steering wheel.
The home improvement store also has a 12-foot-tall skeleton (that’s 5 feet taller than Shaquille O’Neal, by the way) with lifelike animated LED eyes. You can order it for $299, though it’s currently on backorder.
There is also an entire “The Nightmare Before Christmas” collection, which includes a giant Oogie Boogie inflatable that stands 10.5 feet tall.
The LED-powered decoration from Airblown self-inflates and deflates in seconds and comes with stakes. It can be used indoors or outdoors and costs $149.
The collection also includes a sound– and motion-activated 70-inch animated Sally doll and a pre-lit 5-foot-tall inflatable Jack Skellington that even comes with Zero the dog.
While many of Home Depot’s decorations are large and meant to be displayed outdoors, Big Lots has some smaller items, including an animated mermaid skeleton for $20 and a mini unicorn skeleton for just $12.
The mermaid dances to the tune of “Flashdance/What a Feeling,” so she would fit into more of the “cute” Halloween decor category and isn’t as frightening as some of these other options.
For more mythological Halloween animals, check out Oriental Trading’s skeletal unicorn and dragon for $49.98.
Happy Halloween!
