Angie Beavin joined the LEX 18 news team in August 2015 as a reporter and anchor. She anchors LEX 18 News at 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. The move back to Lexington was as personal as it was professional for Angie. She was born and raised in Lexington and is excited to be in her hometown.
Prior to LEX 18, Angie worked at the NBC affiliate KXAN in Austin, Texas. Before her time in Austin, Angie worked in Lexington at WKYT. Her career in TV started in the mountains of eastern Kentucky at WYMT.
Angie graduated from the University of Kentucky where she majored in broadcast journalism and minored in political science. She's a graduate of Lexington Catholic High School and Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary School in Lexington.
While living in Texas, Angie got married, and after moving back to Lexington she and her husband started their family. She's a mom to two children: a boy and a girl. Life with kids takes on a whole new meaning--and a whole new level of busy! Most free time now is spent with her family, and she wouldn't have it any other way. Angie enjoys spending time outside, sports, trying new restaurants, and resting; yes, resting.
Outside of her work with LEX 18, Angie is a board member with the Children's Advocacy Center of the Bluegrass and I Care KY. Lexington and the surrounding communities are near and dear to her, and she is grateful to get to tell the stories of Kentuckians every day.
