LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Seventy-two veterans took a very special trip to Washington, D.C., over the weekend.
Kentucky veterans who served during World War II, the Korean War or the Vietnam War went on the honor flight on Saturday.
After visiting the war memorials built in their honor, they received a huge welcome home at Blue Grass Airport.
Families, friend and supporters filled the airport entryway to greet them.
Kentucky's Touchstone Energy Cooperative sponsored the event.
