7-Eleven Has A New Spicy Watermelon-lime Fire Slurpee

It’s not often you’ll find foods that are both spicy and cold, but 7-Eleven is looking to give your tastebuds a brand new experience with their latest Slurpee flavor.

Following the convenience store’s Slurpee Lite vitaminwater Chill drink earlier this year, the new Glaceau vitaminwater Fire Slurpee is described as a spicy watermelon-lime flavor with a touch of jalapeno and habanero. 7-Eleven says it “is so fire, it had to be turned into a Slurpee just to cool it down” and that it even sparks a slight tingling sensation when you take a sip.

The fiery orange-red Slurpee is a light drink, naturally-flavored, contains no sugar and an 8-ounce serving has just 20 calories. It is fortified with vitamins B3, B6 and B12.

“After the big splash that vitaminwater Chill Slurpee Lite drink made with Slurpee-lovers, we expect this spicy watermelon-lime vitaminwater fire will be even bigger,” Jacob Barnes, 7-Eleven proprietary beverages director said in a press release. “Slurpee Lite has had some of our more unusual and sophisticated flavors, so thirsty customers can cut sugar without sacrificing flavor.”

You can try the new flavor for $1 for a medium-sized at participating 7-Eleven stores through the 7Rewards app for a limited time. Just like the coupon, the Slurpee itself is also for a limited time, so you’ll want to try it while you can.

Trying it yourself is probably the only way to find out if the kick of spice is too much or just right … and whether this Slurpee is the perfect pairing for Doritos’ new Screamin’ Sriracha flavor. (That might be too much heat!)

While this new Slurpee flavor is definitely interesting, it’s far from the only unique flavor to appear in 7-Eleven’s Slurpee machines lately. They currently have a Sour Patch kids flavor, and in August, they debuted a Slurpee inspired by Nerds candy.

The limited-time flavor was a combination of two Nerds flavors: Seriously Strawberry and Gotta-Have Grape. 7-Eleven collaborated with Ferrara Candy Company, the maker of Nerds, to create the flavor that was described as “delicious, tangy grape and strawberry that taste just like your favorite Nerds candy.”
