LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Lexington police are investigating after an 11-year-old was reportedly hurt in a drive-by shooting.

Police say a car with several people inside came down Mable Lane and started shooting at another car on Saturday afternoon.

Reportedly an 11-year-old inside the car that was targeted was hurt by broken glass. No one was hit by a bullet though.

Police believe the shooter was aiming for the child's father.

LEX18 spoke to people who live near the shooting who are on edge, especially due to the time of attack.

"This is going to create some issues for parents and kids not feeling safe to play in their own yards," said Amanda McFadden.

McFadden and other residents tell us they are now considering moving, "It's probably going to affect us wanting to be here with children."

Officers say they're looking for a dark blue Toyota Camry.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact police.
