UPDATE: Southbound I-75 near Corbin reopens after semi fire

LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — The southbound lanes of Interstate Highway 75 have been reopened to traffic after being closed for hours Thursday morning after a semi tractor-trailer caught fire.

Kentucky traffic officials reported the fire around 4 a.m. near the 30 mile marker of I-75.

Officials in Laurel County said the lanes were shut down for a couple hours from the London exit to the Corbin exit.

The roadway reopened to traffic around 6:30 a.m. Traffic was expected to remain heavy for a while before returning to normal.
