STANTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — Several fire departments battled a fire that broke out early Friday morning in Stanton, destroying a home.
Officials said Friday afternoon that the home's owner, who initially was unaccounted for, had been located and was safe.
Investigators said they made contact with Donnie Sons Jr.
Police tell LEX 18 Sons was arrested on unrelated charges.
Authorities said the blaze was reported about 12:45 a.m. at a home along Maple Street.
Officials said the fire apparently started in kitchen and front bedroom area.
At least one person lived in the home, but it was not clear if anyone was home when the fire started.
When crews arrived, the fire was widespread and flames were coming through the roof, officials said.
Authorities said the home is a total loss.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
