HARLAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18)– Kentucky State Police say twin three-year-old children were found dead inside of a Harlan County house fire.
39-year-old Dennis Chad Howard and 42-year-old Allyson Howard were flown to Holston Valley Hospital in Tennessee after a fire at their home on Ky 522 in the Totz community. They have since been taken to a burn unit in Augusta, Georgia with life-threatening injuries.
KSP received the call around 11:18 a.m.
The couple’s three-year-old twins were originally unaccounted for, but around 6:30 p.m., KSP confirmed they have been found dead. Their bodies will be sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort for an autopsy.
KSP continues to investigate the cause of the fire.
