LINEFORK, Ky. (LEX 18)- A death investigation is underway after a Letcher County man was found deceased in a pond on his neighbor’s property yesterday afternoon.
Kentucky State Police received a call Thursday afternoon from a man who said he had discovered his neighbor in a pond on his property.
Troopers responded to the residence on Cornett Branch Road in the Linefork community of Letcher County.
During the preliminary investigation, it was determined that Darrell Eugene Maggard, 60, of Linefork, drove his vehicle into the pond sometime during the previous night. The van Maggard was driving was submerged in the pound and his body was found outside of the vehicle in the water.
Foul play is not suspected, but Maggard’s body was sent to Frankfort for an autopsy.
