PIKE COUNTY, Ky. (EKB)– A house fire in Pike County sent two people to the hospital, including a fire chief.

It happened just after midnight Monday on Shelby Dry Fork in the Greasy Creek community.

When firefighters got to the scene they found flames shooting from a mobile home.

They say two people inside escaped through a bedroom window. Both suffered cuts and bruises, and one was taken to the hospital.

The Greasy Creek fire chief was also taken and treated for smoke inhalation, heat exhaustion, and dehydration.

A pet was lost in the fire and the home was destroyed.
