KNOX COUNTY, Ky (LEX 18)– KSP says that two men suffered gunshot wounds on Ky 3440 in Knox County.

The shooting happened on Wednesday. KSP received the call from the Knox County Sheriff’s Department at 4:52 p.m.

They say that 57-year-old Glenn Edwards, of Gray, was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering a gunshot wound. His autopsy revealed he was shot in the back. He died from the gunshot wound.

The preliminary investigation shows that Edwards was driving a pickup truck and became stuck in a driveway belonging to 71-year-old Glenn Powell, of Barbourville. Edwards left his vehicle and walked, looking for someone to assist him in getting his vehicle out, according to KSP.

Powell allegedly fired his weapon and stuck Edwards in the back. A short time later, the individual returned to assist Edwards at which time Powell allegedly fired at him as well. That individual returned fire, hitting Powell in the abdomen, KSP says.

Powell was flown to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of the wound. He is stable.
