BOYLE COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — U.S. Highway 150 in Boyle County reopened Monday morning after a massive home fire shut the roadway down for hours.
Authorities said the fire occurred along Perryville Road just outside of Danville.
Officials tell LEX 18 that two people and two dogs were inside the home when the fire stated but both people and pets made it out safely.
Two landes of U.S. 150 were blocked near mile maker 6 but have sense reopened.
Firefighters said that the first crews on the scene encountered a home that was fully engulfed in flames.
"It's been a real tough situation. There's no hydrants ... we had to shuttle water," said Boyle County EMS Director Mike Wilder. "Makes for a real job. But it has been a large fire, yes."
Investigators are looking into the cause of the blaze.
