LEX 18 Sports Reporter

Eli Gehn – LEX 18 Sports Reporter

Eli joined the LEX 18 Sports Team in August of 2018 as a reporter and anchor.  ​Originally from Moline, IL, Eli spent his college years at Northern Illinois University where he was the Sports Director at the university’s Northern Television Center. He graduated in 2013 and was hired as a morning photographer and editor at WNDU-TV in South Bend, IN. He would quickly transition into sports, becoming the Weekend Sports Anchor for three years. Mike Valente – Multimedia Journalist

Mike Valente – LEX 18 Multimedia Journalist

Mike Valente is excited to join the LEX 18 news team as a multimedia journalist. Prior to coming on board in August 2018, Mike worked for WDTV in Bridgeport, West Virginia, where he covered everything from murder trials to the state’s historic school service personnel strike.


Mike has always been passionate about telling stories and giving a platform to people whose voices have been muted. He prides himself on being versatile, pursuing investigative pieces, light-hearted feature stories, and profiles of courage. Click the image to learn more about Mike.

Eleanor Buckley: General Assignment Reporter

Eleanor Buckley – General Assignment Reporter

Eleanor Buckley joined the LEX 18 team in August 2018 as a general assignment reporter. She comes from Minnesota and loves the cold but more importantly what comes with it- Hockey.

In fact, Eleanor enjoys all sports, and that’s what drove her to play college tennis competing at the division one and two level throughout her college career. After college Eleanor left Minnesota to become a multi-media reporter in Roanoke, Virginia. Roanoke presented new opportunities covering stories from pipeline protests to professional NASCAR. Eleanor’s true passion however is investigative journalism and watching Dateline. This love has driven her to go after similar stories like uncovering cold cases. Claire Kopsky – LEX 18 Multimedia Journalist

Claire Kopsky joined the LEX 18 team in June 2018 as a multimedia journalist on Sunrise. Previously she was a multimedia journalist and anchor in the heart of the Show-Me State at KOMU, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri. She covered a variety of stories including the indictment of the Governor, sexual assault issues in the loosely regulated massage therapy industry and free speech battles. Her passion is investigative reporting leading her to actively search for stories that positively impact the Lexington community.


Claire graduated from the University Missouri School of Journalism and earned a degree in Convergence Journalism with an emphasis in Television Reporting; and a minor in Business. Throughout college, she worked in digital, print, broadcast, and multimedia newsrooms. Claire also reported in Beijing, China, at the China Open Tennis Tournament, reported for a print and digital magazine in London, UK, and worked for a digital start up in New York City.

Charlie Walter – LEX 18 Weekend Sports Anchor/MMJ

Charlie join the LEX 18 sports team in November 2017.  Charlie was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, where he attended Moeller High School, followed by Ohio University. Go Bobcats!(/p>


Walter got his career started in Montgomery, Alabama, covering the eventual National Champion Alabama Crimson Tide.  Following his stay in Montgomery, Walter ventured into Minor League baseball, where he called play-by-play for the Tennessee Smokies (AA Chicago Cubs). Following the season, Charlie stayed in Knoxville and helped out in WVLT’s sports department. Click the image to learn more about Charlie.

Katherine Collins - LEX 18 Digital Multimedia Journalist

Katherine Collins – LEX 18 Multimedia Journalist

Katherine joined the LEX 18 news team in November 2017 as a multimedia journalist. She comes from WHIO in Dayton, Ohio, where she worked as a reporter covering everything from tornado damage to murder trials.


Before working in Dayton, Katherine studied broadcast journalism at the University of Maryland. She’s excited to explore Lexington and go to a UK basketball game, although her loyalty will always be to the Terps! Have a story idea or just a suggestion of what she should check out in Lexington? Alexa Helwig – LEX 18 Multimedia Journalist

Alexa began as a multimedia journalist for LEX 18 in September 2018.  Alexa came to us from WHIZ-TV in Zanesville, Ohio where she produced and anchored the 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. weekday newscasts. Alexa is a University of Cincinnati graduate with a BA in Communication and Electronic Media minor. Click the image to learn more about Alexa.

Tiffany Jackson – LEX 18 Multimedia Journalist

Tiffany Jackson joined the LEX 18 news team in May of 2017 as a multimedia journalist. Tiffany comes to Lexington from Panama City Beach, Florida where she reported on everything from local government, to murder trials, to hurricanes. Originally from Nashville, Tiffany is excited to be closer to home and back where she can enjoy all four seasons again.


Tiffany graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, but she hopes viewers won’t hold that against her! She promises to keep the UT orange to a minimum. Click the image to learn about Tiffany.

Jacqueline Nie - LEX 18 Multimedia Journalist

Jacqueline Nie – LEX 18 Reporter

Jacqueline Nie joined LEX 18 news team in May of 2017 as a reporter. Jacqueline is no stranger to Lexington; she is a former intern at LEX 18 and a graduate of the University of Kentucky. She is excited to make Lexington home again!


Jacqueline made the move back here from Bowling Green. She worked for the ABC affiliate for nearly two years as a weekend anchor and reporter. During her time in South Central Kentucky, she had the opportunity to cover major local, state and national news.

Kylen Mills - LEX 18 Weekend Anchor/Reporter

Kylen Mills – LEX 18 Weekend Anchor/Reporter

Kylen Mills joined the LEX 18 news team in March of 2017 as a weekend evening anchor and reporter. Kylen is no stranger to Bluegrass; she has family ties to Lexington and eastern Kentucky that go back generations. She’s thrilled to now call Lexington home!


Kylen made the move here from Oklahoma City. She worked for the Fox affiliate there as a reporter and fill-in anchor for two years.  In the Sooner State Kylen had the opportunity to cover everything from tornadoes, to President Obama visiting, to the Thunder advancing in the playoffs. But she feels her biggest accomplishment in Oklahoma was receiving a 2016 NextGen 30 under 30 Award for leadership and community service. Click the image to learn more about Kylen.

Karolina Buczek – LEX 18 General Assignment Reporter

Karolina comes to us from WJFW in Northern Wisconsin where brutally cold winters last for far too long. She’s excited to be in Lexington and is loving the weather!  Karolina is a LEX 18 general assignment reporter. 


In Wisconsin, Karolina covered everything from murder trials to snowshoe baseball. She covered big stories like the legalization of same-sex marriage, teen gang stabbings, and a prom shooting. Click on the image to learn more about Karolina

Conor McCue – LEX 18 General Assignment Reporter

Conor McCue joined the LEX 18 news team in June 2016 as a general assignment reporter.  He is a proud Colorado native who is very excited to explore the Bluegrass and tell the stories that really matter.


After graduating from the University of Colorado with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and emphasis on Integrative Physiology (he is well aware of how strange that combination is), Conor moved all the way across the country to report for WMBF News in sunny Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Seth Phillips – LEX 18 Weekend Meteorologist

Seth Phillips is the LEX 18 news Sunrise weekend meteorologist. He joined the StormTracker weather team in May of 2016.


Born in the heart of Cajun Country (Lafayette, LA), Seth is no stranger to severe weather. Growing up, hurricanes and tornadoes grabbed his attention and started him on his path to tell the weather story. In the wake of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, Seth was able to experience first-hand the effects of harsh weather by volunteering at local shelters to help displaced families. Conroy Delouche - LEX 18 Sunrise Weekend Anchor/Reporter

Conroy Delouche – LEX 18 Sunrise Weekend Anchor/Reporter

Conroy Delouche joined the LEX 18 news team in June 2016 as a general assignment reporter. He’s worked in a few different newsrooms, including one in eastern Kentucky, but he comes to Lexington after spending the last few years as a high school teacher.  Conroy is the weekend Sunrise anchor. 


Conroy graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. While in Columbia, he reported and anchored weekends at KOMU. His first job after college took him to eastern Kentucky where he worked at WYMT. Conroy fell in love with the Bluegrass State while reporting and travelling all through the mountains, and went to any football and basketball games he could. After two years, he moved on to the Volunteer State to report and anchor at WVLT in Knoxville. Click on the image to learn more about Conroy.

Jill Szwed – LEX 18 Weekend Meteorologist

Jill Szwed joined the LEX 18 StormTracker weather team as the weekend meteorologist in May 2016, and she is thrilled to call the bluegrass home!


Family and friends knew from an early age that Jill wanted to be a meteorologist. Her interest in the weather began in her sixth grade science class and her passion grew through experiencing severe flooding, countless snowstorms, and a tornado that hit the downtown area of her hometown Pittsburgh, PA.
